Healthy Christmas Appetizers and Snack Recipes

Healthy Christmas Appetizers and Snack Recipes

The really nice thing about Christmas is that we can completely blow our diet and healthy eating because we all know we have New Year’s resolutions to compensate our bad holiday choices, correct? That will be good for about the middle of January and then what? How about this? Why not choose healthy Christmas appetizers and snack recipes to help you enjoy guilt-free holiday season?

Consider that a pre-run to eating healthy the rest of the year. You might even enjoy your new lifestyle. We have several recipes from Eating Well that will be a great way to start off this new holiday season. We will provide the link to each of the recipes and make sure to read the comments for each of the recipes. Here they are!

For starters consider the garlic and white bean dip. How can you go wrong with garlic and cannellini beans? Not possible. This can be used as a dip topping or even as a sandwich spread for your favorite meats and cheeses.

How about bringing in some culture to your holiday season? Nothing like a bit of Mexico to bring in some Christmas from around the world! How about chile lime peanuts? Apparently, this is similar to that sold by street vendors across Mexico. Just remember to not add more salt if you already have salted peanuts and add more or less cayenne pepper for the right amount of spice to your liking.

For an appetizer or part of the main course, you can try the Rustic Mushroom Tart. We all know the benefits of mushrooms in a person’s diet. With ricotta cheese and goat cheese as part of the recipe, this works extremely well when served as an addition to a salad and maybe some wine. This is certainly a think out of the box and avoids the mundane addition to your holiday cheer.

A perfect fall theme is the use of squash. How about a cheesecake with squash bars? Yes, it does have sugar in it, but that does not make it a bad choice since completely abstaining from all sugars is probably not good health management anyway. Just check it out and enjoy.

Nothing like some hot soup running up to the holidays on a cold winter day! Our healthy choice is crab bisque with avocado tomato-corn relish. Just the title alone is descriptive enough for salivating anyone’s hungry appetite! Check out this winner! Still, want to be warmed up on the inside? Check out some of our protein products like coffee.
