3 Summer Smoothies to Quench Your Thirst
Smoothies not only taste great, they are great for weight loss all year long. But summertime is the perfect time to quench your thirst and cool off with a refreshing smoothie. Try our top 3 favorite recipes that we know you’ll love too! Simply blend all the ingredients together until smooth.
Tip: If you like your smoothies extra cold (we sure do), then use frozen instead of fresh fruit. You can even freeze your own fruit!
1 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries
2 ripe bananas (the riper, the sweeter)
1 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ cup cottage cheese
2 TBSP. chia seeds
1 tsp. lemon zest
We don’t actually mean a pineapple that’s green! But this green smoothie is as healthy as it is delicious.
½ cup unsweetened almond milk
1/3 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt (great source of protein)
1 cup baby spinach
1 frozen banana
½ cup frozen pineapple
1 TBSP. chia seeds
¾ cup of almond milk
¼ cup of plain yogurt
¾ tsp. vanilla extract
1 ½ cups of frozen mango
Add a little mint for garnish (and taste)!
Optional: Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder for a little bit of sweetness. We like Quest’s Vanilla Milkshake Protein Powder. You can also add natural sweetness with a ripe banana or even an avocado (be sure to add more milk to compensate). If that doesn’t cut it, you can also add a touch of honey.
