Protein Wealth: Get a Summer Body like a Guardian of the Galaxy

on Mar 04 2014
It’s not impossible to have a muscular physique by this summer like a Guardian from “Guardians of the Galaxy.” You just need to stick to the right exercise plan—and get enough quality protein so that your body can recover from your workouts. The thing with protein, though, is that for many people striving for that great summer body of attractive muscle development, protein is a nuisance. Either it’s the same boring chicken breast, grilled or canned fish, and egg white omelet, or it’s some gritty protein powder that tastes crummy—and you have to add fruit, juice, etc. to it to make it taste decent—and that requires a noisy blender that your coworkers won’t appreciate. These problems are eliminated all the way with Protein Wealth products. Not only is the issue of monotony put to rest, but these are protein foods that you can actually enjoy and not feel it’s something you “have to eat” in order to build muscle. The beauty here is that these products can go with you anywhere, and you don’t have to worry about anything getting stale or having to remain refrigerated, or needing special equipment to mix anything up. For example, the Cold Chocolate Drink requires only cold water, a glass and a utensil like a plastic spoon to mix it up. Voila! A delicious chocolate drink that’s high in protein—a snack that you can easily have at work or anywhere, while knowing that it’s helping you reach your summer goal of a muscular body. And if you’ve lost enthusiasm over the tripod of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry for protein beverages, Protein Wealth actually has a Pineapple Orange Fruit Smoothie. Not only do these products deliver on protein content, taste and convenience, but they are unbelievably low in calories and carbohydrates. This makes them ideal for those individuals who are also wanting to lose excess body fat while they add lean sexy muscle to their bodies. Plus, they help satisfy hunger and the urge to eat junky type foods. Building muscle for your summer body with proper nutrition no longer has to be boring, messy or inconvenient. Protein Wealth is a tasty, very easy alternative to all the nuisance! The post Protein Wealth: Get a Summer Body like a Guardian of the Galaxy appeared first on Nashua Nutrition Blog.

If you’re one of the thousands who hope to lose those extra pounds following the holiday season, one of the best ways to do that is by incorporating protein packed meals into your diet. Why is getting enough protein so important? It can be essential in order to achieve weight loss goals as without enough protein, the body begins to burn muscle rather than fat. Losing muscle means that the metabolism will begin to slow and you’ll burn fewer calories.  The amino acids in protein serve as the building blocks for your muscles, increasing strength, giving you a leaner appearance and helping to keep the fires of the metabolism burning at its max. Foods that are rich in protein will make you feel more satisfied and keep you feeling fuller longer, decreasing the risk of giving into temptation when unhealthy snacks are around. As more energy is required to digest protein than carbs, you’ll also be burning more calories. Nashua Nutrition’s line of protein packed meals are not only delicious, but they’re good for you too as they contain the nutrition your body needs, without the extra calories and fat.  Rich tasting and convenient, HealthSmart Dinners like Creamy Chicken Pasta are loaded with essential nutrients and contain 15 grams of protein that will help you feeling full for hours. You’ll also burn more calories during digestion, boosting weight loss efforts even further. It takes more energy to digest protein than it does to digest carbohydrates. Convenience. These shakes are easy to prepare, making them a very convenient way to eat a nutritious meal and be aware of exactly how many calories you’re getting. By utilizing these, you’ll have no question when it comes to portion size, making it much easier to stick to your diet. Improves ability to stick to a fitness program. One study found that a group of intense exercisers who supplemented their diet with 10 grams of protein had fewer infections, less muscle soreness and less heat exhaustion. Ultimately, this may allow one to continue a fitness program without interruption from illness or injury. Greater fat loss. Research has shown that increasing daily protein intake along with regular exercise often results in more fat loss as compared to working out alone. Increased metabolism. Without enough protein in your diet, the body begins to burn muscle instead of fat, which can make weight loss difficult if not impossible. The more muscle you have, the more calories that are burned every day. Increasing muscle boosts the metabolism and helps give you a leaner, more fit look. Protein shakes offer a delicious way to lose weight quickly while helping to maintain or even boost muscle mass. Don’t make the mistake of thinking they are just for body builders. Why Your Body Needs Post Workout Protein and a Delicious Way to Meet Those Nutritional Needs

on Oct 22 2013
There is about an hour window after exercising when the muscles are primed to respond to protein. During this time, it’s essential to provide your body with quality sources of protein that can help kick-start the repair and building process that results in muscle growth. During a workout, muscle is broken down, requiring important amino acids that serve to repair and rebuild. While some people make the mistake of skipping their post workout protein with the thought that they can burn fat faster, virtually the opposite is true. This is the time when your metabolism is running at its peak. Consuming protein after working out can help you lose weight and burn fat. Studies have shown that increasing daily protein intake combined with regular exercise results in greater fat loss when compared to working out alone. As protein helps to increase muscle protein synthesis following exercise, this means that it can also help boost muscle strength. During a workout, the muscles experience microscopic trauma; ensuring that your body get its protein during that hour window following the activity will help it to repair those muscles and improve strength. One delicious recipe that will not only help you get your post workout protein, but lots of potent antioxidants as well is this Pumpkin Cinnamon Protein Pancake recipe. It’s easy to make and vegetarian friendly too. Ingredients: ½ cup pumpkin ½ teaspoon cinnamon or ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice + ¼ teaspoon cinnamon ½ teaspoon baking powder 2 egg whites ½ cup oats ½ cup + 2 tablespoons water 1 scoop protein powder ½ cup coarsely chopped toasted pecans 3 to 5 packets of Stevia or ½ to 1 tablespoon of desired sweetener Instructions: Preheat a nonstick griddle coated with cooking spray to medium heat. Place all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Spoon about ¼ cup of the batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Flip pancakes when the batter is covered in bubbles and the edges are browned. These pancakes are an especially tasty way to get your post workout protein. Bar Hopping: Using Discount Protein Bars to Balance Your Diet

on Sep 12 2013
Maintaining a healthy diet is one of the biggest challenges that face members of modern society. Despite everything we know about healthy eating and how important it is to our long-term welfare, temptations are everywhere. And even when we are focused and striving for a healthy diet, easy choices aren’t always readily available. Living a healthy lifestyle and maintaining a proper diet is one of the few things that has gotten harder as technology has made the rest of our lives easier. One of the major challenges for those following a healthy diet is getting the proper amount of protein. Regular intake of protein is a requirement of life, and people who are physically active need even more of it to remain properly nourished. Unfortunately, many of the food options offered today have little to no protein present in them. In fact, ironically, many of the dietary choices that are high in protein are actually foods that are not part of a healthy diet. This is where discount protein bars from Nashua Nutrition come in. These bars have a lot going for them, but let’s start with the obvious – they are loaded with protein. If you make these bars a regular part of your diet, no longer will you need to worry about a protein deficiency. Additionally, they are pre-packaged and portion controlled so you will know exactly how many calories you are consuming when you open one up. That is a great benefit to any diet and makes keeping track of your daily calorie count just a little bit easier. Finally, these bars are as convenient as food can be. Even the busiest person has time to throw discount protein bars into their bag for a much-needed snack at just the right time. Instead of stopping last-minute at a fast food place, have a protein bar and keep moving on with your day. Nashua Nutrition offers a great selection of discount protein bars in a variety of flavors, so you can easily find one (or more) that suits your tastes perfectly. Athlete Diets Must be Impeccable in Order to Achieve Success

on Aug 12 2013
New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez was recently suspended for 211 games, the harshest penalty handed out to 13 players recently who were caught using and possessing a number of forms of prohibited performance-enhancing substances over the course of a number of years. Of course, Rodriguez is under a lot of pressure to perform, from the team as well as the fans. He had an incredible run earlier in his career, becoming an All-Star by the age of 20 and appearing ready to break the all-time home run record. Unfortunately for the aging player, as of late, his enormous pay check coupled by failures in the playoffs have made him the butt of many jokes. With all of that pressure placed on MLB players to live up to expectations, some take the steroids route while others take the higher road by ensuring their diets are impeccable in addition to putting in the hard work required to be their best. Athlete diets are a key factor for achieving success and avoiding the dark path that using steroids can bring. The right diet often makes the difference in accomplishing just about any athletic or fitness goal.  A diet that includes high quality sports nutrition supplements can play a significant part in allowing the athlete to reach success without the risk of harming their health and their career. Building mass You don’t need steroids  to build muscle – instead consider adding Serious Mass by Nashua Nutrition which when combined with proper diet along with intense workouts can help an athlete overcome that brick wall when it comes to gaining weight. With 50 grams of protein, along with creatine, glutamine and packed with essential vitamins and minerals, this is an excellent supplement to help support your goal of achieving a powerful physique. Energy and endurance It takes a lot of energy as well as endurance to get through a tough workout. Even if you’re on one of the best athlete diets, it can be enhanced by including BSN-No-Xplode. This special blend helps to support adults in experiencing increased energy, better performance as well as muscle development and all types of fitness training. Don’t make the mistake Alex Rodriguez and other athletes have by turning to dangerous compounds – athlete diets are best supplemented by high quality nutrition and intense exercise instead of steroids. Discount Protein Bars: An Active Life Requires Protein

on Jun 15 2013
When you’re trying to get healthy, one of the first things you change is your diet. Why? Because you can’t expect to get good things out of your body such as increased energy, better performance, and weight loss if you aren’t fueling it properly. Bottom line: A proper, nutritious diet equals a healthier you. Protein is of special importance when it comes to nutritious eating. Protein, the stuff humans are made of, is found in every human cell – your hair, skin, muscles, organs, and even in your body fluids. You are protein, and you need to ingest protein for your body to repair cells and make new ones. That’s why many eat discount protein bars to ensure they’re getting the right amount of protein. How Your Body Uses Protein Your body is constantly reproducing cells to replace dying ones. Some die of old age, others are killed off because they are imperfect or contain some sort of mutation, others are killed as you go about your daily activities. When you pull a muscle, cut your skin, or bump into something a bit too hard, you unintentionally kill cells. When included in a balanced, nutritious diet, protein also curbs hunger, which makes it ideal for those who want to lose weight. The stomach breaks down proteins much slower than it does processed sugars and carbohydrates. Protein and Those Who Work Out When you work out, you create small tears in your muscles; your body needs protein to repair these tears and build new muscle. Protein also aids the body in recovery after an injury or after a workout when you pushed a little too hard. For the most part, people who are active – especially those who strength train – need to consume more protein to compensate for these activities. When it’s impossible to get enough protein through diet alone, discount protein bars can be added to the diet to boost protein intake. The games are renowned across the world as a “grueling test for the toughest athletes on the planet and will take place in Carson, California from July 26 to July 28, 2013. The CrossFit Games are events that are made up of a broad range of functional movements which requires moving large loads, testing endurance by long distance events as well as speeds. Top athletes from 17 different regions across the globe compete in the Open in order to qualify for the next stage, the Regionals, with the season culminating with the 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games. At the Games, thousands of participants are then narrowed to about 100 of the most fit men and women on the planet. While you don’t have to become the very fittest, staying active at any age is important for many reasons, including: Controlling your weight. Exercise can prevent many diseases and illness, contributing to a lengthier and higher quality of life. Improving your mood. One of the best ways to feel happier is by working out. Exercising regularly will increase your endorphins, responsible for the feeling of well-being. It can prevent aging diseases like dementia and even slow the progress of brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s Disease. Boosting energy. Exercising actually provides the body with more energy to get through the day. Protein bars are a great way to help you achieve your fitness goals Incorporate discount protein bars into your healthy eating plan to ensure that your body’s protein needs are met. If you don’t get enough protein in your diet, your body can be forced to burn muscle instead of fat; the more lean muscle you have the more calories you’ll burn – you don’t want to lose muscle. Protein will also aid in boosting the metabolism by preserving lean muscle tissue and even help you stay fuller longer, preventing between meal hunger pangs. Basketball player Kevin Ware Stays Positive as he Recovers from Devastating Leg Injury

on Apr 13 2013
Louisville Cardinal basketball guard Kevin Ware shattered his leg in a freak accident during the NCAA regional championship game at the end of March. On that fateful Sunday night the sophomore player leaped into the air to contest a three-point shot and when he landed, his tibia broke on impact and shot a piece of the bone through his shin. Following the gruesome injury, Ware underwent a successful surgery to reset the broken bone. His bone was set and a rod was inserted into the right tibia in order to stabilize the bone while it heals. Just hours after the surgery, Ware, continuing to remain positive was carefully walking and telling his teammates to “win the game.”  Of course, they did, and went on to capture the ultimate prize, winning the National Championship on Monday night, April 8. Ware seemed to give his team the spark they needed to take it all, and his positive attitude will go a long way in recovering from the injury as well. Despite the severity of his injury, as the athlete is relatively healthy and young, his recovery is expected to be long but he still may be able to get out on the court in his junior year. Diet is crucial for injury recovery   For someone healthy, it could take anywhere from three to six months to recover, with athlete diets playing a key role in that recovery process. A healthy, balanced diet is crucial in order to rebuild muscle and bone as well as damaged tissues. Including plenty of whole, fresh organic foods as well as those packed with anti-oxidants like dark leafy greens and vividly colored fruits and vegetables like carrots and berries in athlete diets can help boost the immune system and speed recovery. Creatine   Creatine, a natural compound made within the body, can determine how quickly those muscles and damaged tissues can regenerate. Studies have shown that supplementing with creatine can enhance skeletal muscle regeneration and protection. Athlete diets that include creatine were proven to shorten recovery time, helping muscles recuperate faster, making it especially beneficial for athletes with sports injuries to get back to their game as quickly as possible. The bottom line   For Kevin Ware, he’s likely to have a team of health experts making sure he gets the proper diet, including creatine, and with his positive attitude the odds increase that he’ll be back on the court early next season. The Pros and Cons of the Shred Diet: How it can Work for You

on Apr 12 2013
The Shred Plan is a diet that promises dieters to drop four inches and two dress sizes in only six weeks. The plan is based on a similar premise in exercising in which an activity called muscle confusion is used to break through muscle growth plateaus. When your muscles get used to performing the same types of exercises at the same times, you muscles start to acclimate, causing progress to come to a halt. With “muscle confusion” people are asked to work their muscles differently and at different times throughout the day in order to confuse the muscles and trigger growth, allowing the exerciser to continue their path toward reaching fitness goals. This diet employs the same process by varying the types of food and quantities in order to prevent the metabolism from slowing and encouraging the body to burn more calories. On any diet, one of the key factors for success is ensuring that your body gets the protein it needs in order to boost your metabolism and burn calories efficiently. Combining the Shred Diet with protein powder may be one of the best ways to achieve your weight goals as it provides a number of benefits: Protein adds in metabolic increase by preserving lean muscle tissue.
